2009 Grand Masters Pin
A Rich History
By Mark A. Genung, Senior Grand Deacon
Every Grand Master beginning in 1992-93 with Max Carpenter, PGM have designed and made available to the Craft a Grand Master’s Pin. The designs of the pins are inspired by the GM’s journey to his year as leader of Freemasonry in Indiana. Several of our Brothers collect and display the eighteen available (some very hard to find) pins.
Grand Master Marlowe’s pin design reflects his desire to celebrate the rich history of Freemasonry in Indiana. The Letter “G” on the torch stands for our fervent desire for enlightenment. The seven rays radiating from the Letter “G” symbolize the expansive nature of God. The seven smaller stars represent our three tenets and four cardinal virtues and allude to the seven liberal arts and sciences. The largest star situated at the top of the compass, represents the pinnacle, where Indiana and Indiana Freemasonry are forever joined.
