Ritualist Pin Program To Promote Lodge Attendance Links

Evansville #64 (2003)

The Ritualist program, which has undergone testing in Southern Indiana since last year, was released for statewide adoption at Founders Day this year. This program challenges and rewards both new and long term Masons and GM James L Chesney, Deputy GM Richard J Elman, and Senior GW Dennis T Herrell have given it "Full Speed Ahead."

The program encourages the newly raised Master Mason to begin the fulfilling journey into ritual work that so many of us enjoy. Furthermore, there is an enticement to enter the officer-line; while also pushing the Membership button.

Program Information

The program is based on 39 parts and lectures which, when given in open Lodge, earns the brother specified points. Three levels of accomplishment are recognized: Ritualist, Senior Ritualist, and Master Ritualist.

The plan further offers experienced enrollees rewards for their past performances. After all, our Elders, who have previously carried the load, shouldn't be asked to perform it all again just because the program start date didn't coincide with their highly productivity years. The ritual program is simple enough: do the work - earn the points - get the pin.

Once a Mason learns a part well enough to present it, presenting it is exactly what he wishes to do, and do it often. This requires New Members. New members join and become Ritualists. They, in turn, generate new members. The cycle is perpetuated. If this sounds vaguely familiar it is because that's what Masons have been doing for hundreds of years. The pin program serves to recognize and reward our heroes, along with administering a healthy dose of "follow the leader."

The greatly respected elder ritualists, who sparingly populate all Lodges, are just the guys who should be wearing these pins. They set the example to be emulated and are the serious players whom can entice the new man into becoming an active Mason.

Earned pins will be sent to your Lodge Secretary for presentation. We hope to exchange pins as a cost control, so as you become proficient in additional parts and find yourself at the next higher level, simply turn in your old pin and a new pin will be forwarded to your Lodge Secretary.

All records of achievement will be accepted as presented, the honor system prevails. Reading of a part does not qualify. The occasional prompt is permitted.
