Albert Pike

Born 29 December 1809 - Died April 1891
Brother Pike was made a Master Mason at Western Star Lodge No. 1 in Little Rock, Arkansas, in July of 1850. He entered the Scottish Rite in March of 1853, and was made Sovereign Grand Commander of the Southern Jurisdiction of that body in 1859, which post he held until the end of his life. He is responsible for a great deal of work in rewriting and reshaping the degrees of the Scottish Rite. His Masonic writings were copious, the most notable of them being Morals and Dogma.
