The
Freemason Flag

The Masonic Flag is made up of a Red, White and Blue Banner. The Red
is
representative of the Fidelity of Masons. The White represents the Purity
of
all upright Masons. The Blue represents the Blue Lodges of which we
all
belong. The numbers 1818 is the date which our Grand Lodge was formed.
The
Cable Tow that surrounds the Masonic Emblem is that Cord that Binds
us all
as Brothers. The Sheves of Wheat that our numbers will always be plentiful.
The Nine Stars represent the Nine original Lodges that formed our Grand
Lodge. The Masonic Emblem, the Square to Square our Actions, the Compus
to
keep us with in due bounds of all mankind, and the Letter "G"
represents the
one Almighty God that we all serve. The words Indiana Masons is Printed
across the Banner.
A contest was presented to all of Free Masonry of Indiana by Ishmael
D. Ison
P.G.M. We needed a Flag of our own. Designs came from all over Indiana,
so
many that a committee was formed to choose the best design. There were
two
most outstanding designs. Then we had an idea, combine the two designs,
for
you could not ignore the importance of either.
