Richard L. Lentz

Grand Master of Masons

Masonic Term Beginning:

Richard L Lentz was born January 10, 1960, in Fort Worth TX. Grand Master Lentz has one brother (who lives in Michigan with his wife Beckie) and their daughter Jenna (who lives in Indianapolis, IN), and one sister with a daughter, Emily (Indianapolis). His father lives in Fort Wayne, IN., and still attends family events. Richard and his wife Donna met in junior high school and were married in July of 1977. Richard and Donna have three sons, Joshua, Matthew, and Michael. Josh and Abbey have five children (Dylan, Cameron, Kinsey, Nate, and Hadley); Matthew and Joanie have three children (Lucas, Drew, and Millie); and Michael and Abbey have three boys (Torin, Preston, and Tatum). Mother and father-in-law, Robert and Ann

Bolt, complete the extended family.

Professionally, Richard has been in the construction industry for more than 40 years working in the construction fields, heavy

highway, residential and commercial development. He started as a laborer, truck driver, and equipment operator and progressed into project management, and later became a business owner. Currently semi-retired and working on his next journey in life, Lentz is focusing on being a better husband, father, grandfather, friend, and brother.

Richard was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on August 13, 2007. During the following years, he sought further Light in Masonry and progressed to the East, becoming Worshipful Master of Concord 556 as of January

2014 and again in 2016. In February 2015, he accepted a position to be the Area Representative for Area 5, consisting of DeKalb, Steuben, and LaGrange counties. In 2015, he was honored by being asked and accepted a position to be on the

Board of Directors of the IMH. He is also a member of the Valley of Indianapolis Scottish Rite, York Rite Commandery, Council, and Chapter, Mizpah Shrine, National Sojourners, Yeoman of the York Preceptories #2, Schofield 1818 UD, and OES Chapter 386 in Spencerville, IN. He proudly serves on the Indiana Masonic Home at Compass Park Board of Directors and received his 33rd Degree in Cleveland, OH, on August 31, 2021.

He was appointed to the Grand Lodge Line as Junior Grand Deacon by Carey B Carter, PGM, in 2016, appointed to Senior Grand Deacon by Rodney Mann, PGM, elected as Junior Grand Warden, Senior Grand Warden serving two years, Deputy Grand Master, and Grand Master in 2022.

Richard considers himself fortunate and thankful to be living a full life, enjoying music, fishing, woodworking, and outdoor activities. Additionally, he volunteers and has shared his time as a member of the St Joe/Spencerville Lions Club and for the following organizations and committees: Ducks Unlimited, Riverdale Youth League, Butler Girls Softball, Pony League, DeKalb County Humane Society, and DeKalb County 4-H.
