David G. Morgan

 

David G. Morgan was born on February 28, 1953, in Evansville, IN. He is the son of William and Loma Morgan of Richland City, IN. David currently lives in Santa Claus, Indiana with his wife, Caroline. They have three children: Jennifer and her husband, Jason of Georgetown, IN, Misty of Evansville, IN and Slade and his wife, Kim of Eagar, AZ. They have also been blessed with nine grandchildren: Ethan, Madison, Jaycie, Gavin, Riley, Morgan, Max, Mallory, and Mason.

On February 2, 2024, David and Caroline celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary.

David graduated from South Spencer High School and soon after began working for Alcoa, Inc. While working full-time, he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Oakland City University. David went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Business Management. While at the University, he was named student representative to the Oakland City University Accreditation Team, Who’s Who among students in American Universities, and a member of Alpha Psi Omega. For his role as Paul Bratter in the Neil Simon play, Barefoot In The Park, David received the University’s Best Acting Award and the President’s Award for the graduating class of 1990.

David spent 32 years working in a variety of positions for Alcoa, Inc. He completed his last three years as Superintendent of Supply Chain Management at Alcoa Mill Products located in Davenport, Iowa with the team that produced the airliner, Airbus A380. After retiring from Alcoa, David and Caroline completed six rewarding years on the Navajo Reservation in Pinon, Arizona working with Navajo children and worked as an Instructional Coach with teachers. David also loves to hike, kayak, snow ski, holds a private pilot’s license, and is a volunteer Elf in his hometown of Santa Claus!

David’s Masonic career began as a DeMolay at age 15. He took his Entered Apprentice Degree eleven days after turning 21 and was raised a Master Mason on May 11, 1974, in Eureka Lodge #397. The new Worshipful Master of Eureka Lodge #397 in 1974 was Dennis T. Herrell (PGM) and David was the first man he raised.

Freemasonry runs deep in David’s family. His grandfather, his Dad, his son, two brothers, brother-in-law, his nephew, and several uncles are Masons. David is Past Master of Eureka Lodge #397 and has served his local lodge in several capacities. He recently received from the Grand Lodge of Indiana, the Award of Gold, representing 50 years of Masonic service.

David is a member of the Evansville Valley of Scottish Rite, York Rite Bodies of Evansville, York Rite College, Hadi Shrine Temple, and Color Guard. He currently also serves on the Compass Park Indiana Masonic Home Board and Finance. David is very proud to support the Masonic Heritage Foundation by being a member of Schofield 1818 U.D. and an active member of Bartimaeus U.D.

David was appointed Junior Grand Deacon by Most Worshipful Kenny Roy, Jr. in 2019. After moving through the progressive line, he was installed as the 173rd Grand Master of Masons in Indiana on May 21, 2024.
